Established in August of 1988, Cornerstone Foundations has grown from a small 3-person company to one of forty. We chose the name Cornerstone to tie our business to the historical construction of our area, where many of the older homes have stone foundations with cornerstones set in. We also wanted to express our belief that Jesus Christ, as the chief cornerstone, is the only sure foundation for our times.

When we started our poured wall business, block foundations were the norm. Now, block foundations share the market with four other poured wall contractors in the area. Early on, we realized the customers with complicated basements (those with more than 10 corners, curves, slopes, etc.) were deferring to block because of cost. We saw this as an opportunity and pursued competitively pricing these jobs.

Joining the CFA was instrumental in helping us through the learning curve involved in pouring these complicated walls. This has been one key to our success. We are now the largest concrete foundation contractor in the entire Shenandoah Valley and are known for our ability to pour anything the contractors or homeowners ask for. It is exciting! The Valley, with three universities, continues to grow at a steady pace. We love what we do, and thank God for each job that comes our way. The future is bright, and we move into it with anticipation.
