Foundation Walls

Producing quality foundation walls is our primary focus. From footers, to stone slinging or from our shop to the office, everything is done to help our wall crews pour the best foundation walls in the Shenandoah Valley.

Setting formsUsing the foundation plans the customer has provided, our foreman creates a form schedule. This schedule is the "map" for our crew on where to place each form. Lines are chalked on the footer to insure accuracy and then we begin setting forms. Starting in a corner, forms are set in two directions. As individual walls are completed, horizontal rebar is installed and tied to the vertical rebar that is in the footer.

Every wall is different, but thanks to our large inventory of forms and equipment as well as top-notch crews, we have not found a wall yet, that we could not tackle. We form walls with brick ledge, angles, bay windows, slopes, arches, curves, numerous doors and windows sizes and heights ranging from 1' to 24' tall, with widths from 4" to 36".

Once the forms are set, we put 2" x 8" lumber in waler brackets at the top of the wall to help straighten the wall and give the crews a safe platform to walk on as they pour the wall.

Just before the crew pours the concrete two final steps are done. The forms are sprayed with Cresset 727 Form Release, a top-of-the-line product that provides easy stripping of the forms, reduces concrete build up on the forms, and reduces "bug holes," leaving nice looking walls.

Agricultural Walls

We live in what is known as "The Poultry Capital of the World." Concrete walls are great for creating safe, environmentally friendly storage facilities for the litter/waste produced by the animals. We pour all kinds of agricultural walls, from the litter storage buildings mentioned, to barn foundations, and water tanks.

Retaining Walls

Retaining walls can require larger footers and thicker walls than the typical basement wall and so we have chosen to distinguish the difference. We have the expertise to provide the right retaining wall for your needs.
